• Good color photos. There's good information on the track sources, but the list leaves off the last 3 songs.
Originality : Good
• The tracks on this CD are from a live show supporting the release of "Muswell Hillbillies" and from portions of a BBC-TV documentary. There is also a fair amount of interview material. The live show is at The Rainbow Theatre (1/24/73) and the BBC show was recorded and broadcast in 1972. There is a live version of "Good Golly Miss Molly" (Dave sings) and a studio version of "Ballad of the Virgin Soldiers" (composed by Ray -- lyrics are discussed, but not included).
Sound Quality : Very Good/Good
• Some of the live tracks are a little murky, but many are very good. The BBC tracks are all very good.
Performance : Very Good
• Ray's comments are enjoyable and funny, and the songs themselves are enthusiastic if a bit sloppy -- which is generally considered to be characteristic of the band at the time. If you enjoy "Muswell Hillbillies" and "Everybody's in Showbiz", you should enjoy this collection.
Overall : Very Good
• Unless you are overly concerned about the slight lack of sound clarity on some tracks, you will like this CD if you are a fan of the era. With a lot of material not easily found elsewhere, it's a good choice if only because of the number of tracks (29 -- although some are interview tracks -- for a total of over 77 minutes.
